#Day 1 Awareness for Climate Change And Global Warming!

#Day1 #A2Z Challenge #BlogchatterA2Z

Hello Everyone!

This is my first post in the Challenge. I am starting this challenge with a very serious note. I would like to address the very sensitive issue related to our planet.

A few days back I saw the news on social media which was going viral, related to 16 years girl named “Greta Thunberg”. I was moved to know about her thoughts about Climate Change and Global Warming.

How she is so aware of the problem and the solution as well in the age of 16? We all are also aware of the problem of climate change and global warming but somehow and somewhere we are ignoring it.

We all are busy in our lives, even we are not thinking about it. But she is not only aware but her actions are also speaking louder than her words.

I am quoting her words” Some people, some companies, some decision-makers, in particular, have known exactly what process values they have been sacrificing to continue making unimaginable amounts of money. And I think many of you here today belong to that group of people”.

This is the link if you want you can listen to this great activist’s thoughts and ideas about the problem. Here you can check the link.👇

Why is she blaming the Companies, Organizations and The Government? Because they all are thinking about only growth, development and profits. It is absolutely not wrong to think about growth and development.

But we have to think about the other perspectives also which are related to this. What are the consequences we have to face now and upcoming generation in future? Only a few are thinking about this seriously and this girl is in one of them.

She is running the #Fridays for Future campaign and I support her. Every Friday she misses her classes and sits outsides the country’s parliament. I quoted her words “I will continue to do so until leaders come into line with the agreement.”

I think this is the best time to talk about this topic on this platform. All the blogger’s community is gathered here so I think we should take a promise that we will do all the possible things which we can do.

We will spread more and more awareness about this topic.

What I have read in the books of the junior and senior sections, this girl is literally understanding and not only this but also she is taking the decision which must opt for a better future for all.

We all aware of the word Global Warming and Climate Change. And we are also experiencing, how the climate is changing gradually?

Do we ever think why is the maximum temperature goes up to 50-degree Celsius in the northern regions of India? This is not about India, Worldwide since 1880, the average surface temperature has gone up by about 1 degree Celsius.

We have to accept the problem first and understand the problem and its solutions also. It is our responsibility to save the earth and our planet. I think most of us aware of the causes and the solutions also but do we think seriously about this?

Those who don’t know about the common causes of Global Warming, I am briefing here.

1.The burning of fossil fuels(coal, gas)

2.Deforestation

3.Overuse of electronic items

4.Overuse of Transportation

5.Manufacturing and Construction

6.Waste disposal.

I am not going in detail description, we all are aware of it. The problem is all of these methods are increasing Carbon dioxide in the atmosphere which acts as a sheet, trap heat and make warm the planet, which is causing Global Warming.

Results are visible. Changes as sea level rise, Ice mass loss in Greenland Antarctica, The Arctic and Mountain Glaciers worldwide. The cycle of the weather is affecting, visible shifts in flower and plant blooming.

What can we do to control Global Warming-

1. Replacing regular light bulb with a CFL. I think we all are doing it. These bulbs consume 10%less energy than the ordinary ones and have longer life also.

2.Sensible use of Personal vehicles. Drive less, For small distances don’t use the car, use a bike or take a walk.

3.By reducing, reusing and recycling household waste. We should try to use Eco-friendly products.

4. The more plantation-Plantation ratio should be more than the cutting ratio of the trees. A single tree will absorb one ton of carbon dioxide over its lifetime.

5.Turning off electronic devices when you are not using them.

6. Go for Solar.

7. Buy energy efficient appliances, help us to save energy and save money.

8. Save energy by consuming less. When we consume less, less carbon dioxide is released in the atmosphere. Do proper use of the refrigerator.

9. Maintenance of the vehicles regularly.

10. Go green.

It is our responsibility to carry forward a better and clean environment for the next generation.

Lets us make a promise to ourselves that we will make the earth a better place to live, healthy and natural.

This is for today, stay tuned for the next one.

Take care of yourselves and nature too.

  1. Excellent post. With leaders like Trump who don’t understand the seriousness of the problem, we are headed for disaster. By the way, I read somewhere that Greta Thunberg was nominated for the Nobel prize in the peace category.

    1. Thanks a lot, Sonia. I would like to mention here, this is not the theme but I want to write about this topic so I started with this. Actually, I am following “No specific Theme”. I chose different topics and I will write on those topics.

  2. Ah, don’t we all know it already? Oh, yes we all know it.
But have we done anything about it? No, we have not.
Until such facts and figures come on our face via such earnest attempts. You have picked up a great theme, and I am truly hoping we make an honest effort towards saving our Planet after reading your post. A commendable job with all those facts and social appeals.

  3. That’s such a wonderful read and a reminder. Summers are here and temperatures will be soaring very high, its time to protect the environment and save bills too. I have started using cycle very often and have said no to plastics too.

  6. Very thoughtful post, Deepika. These are a few simple steps which we should start practicing if we want to have a livable world for the generations to come. Solar is a brilliant way to saving energy, though its a one-time investment but all worth it. I have a plastic free kitchen for almost one year now and I am going to stick to it. Every small step matters.
